Veneers
Completely reshape your teeth for a beautiful, white smile.
The problem
- Stained or discolored teeth
- Unsightly gaps between front teeth
- Chipped teeth
- Rough or jagged edges on front teeth
- Teeth that are too small or large in proportion to rest of the mouth
- Crooked teeth
- Worn teeth
The solution
Veneers are thin coverings usually made from porcelain and then custom-made to fit over existing teeth. They are held in place by a special resin and result in durable coverings that can be a cosmetic fix for spaces in between teeth, broken or chipped teeth, stained fillings, correcting crooked or uneven teeth, or even whitening. Fitting Veneers is an almost painless procedure. Once fitted, they last many years and look completely natural. After 5 to 10 years, patients should replace their veneers.
Advantages
- less loss from dentine (0.3-0.5 mm) at the preparation of teeth
- considerable transparency and reflective ability
- intense brightness and more natural look
Disadvantages
Although they are highly durable, porcelain laminates are not permanent. Well crafted laminates will last many years, but will eventually need to be replaced.
